The relationship between what's in your mouth, on your face, and how much you smile

Went to this supperclub-esque resto last year with a girlfriend (photographer of all following photos.)  I love going to places that just have fun with food, and create dishes with humor.  Restaurants that take food too seriously are no walk in the park.  Sometimes it is appropriate to go to a place like that, and sometimes after a long day, you’d rather go to a place where you don’t have to worry about laughing too loudly or using the wrong dinnerware.

I’d probably get murdered by uber-foodies for using this word to describe the dishes, but how cute! Braised pork lollipops in the centre, the infamous gnocchi poutine on the right, and sliders in the background.  Sliders weren’t anything special, but they had me at poutine.

The gnocchi poutine in all its cheese-curdy goodness.

Then there were the tuna bombs with ginger aioli.  Anything with red tuna is ok by me.  What stood out about this were the pops of Rice Krispies in each bite. Now I know this may be a cheap substitution for panko or some other sophisticated starch product but how clever it was.

Definitely worth a second trip.  Maybe I’ll bump into Lesley Chesterman there.
