Kazu on Midnight Poutine

In Montreal, Review on August 6, 2010 at 09:52

I did a through review of Kazu, the new izakaya on Ste-Catherine and St-Mathieu on Midnight Poutine.

It was almost embarrassing how much food our party ordered, so I only put up the photos of and talked in depth about the most stellar dishes we had all night. However, I can say with absolute certainty that (after sampling the entire menu) it is gooooood at Kazu.

Star of the night – homemade tofu. You won’t get it that fresh, that bright, that deliciously seasoned anywhere else.

The combination of amazing food, excellent service, and super affordable prices makes Kazu a winner all around!

Bocadillo on City Bandit

In Montreal, Review on May 10, 2010 at 22:40

I went again today to Bocadillo, a hole-in-the-wall on St-Laurent with crazy amazing Venezuelan food.  I was introduced to this place by a friend one night after school.  At first, my usual starving nature after class led me to fear that the food at Bocadillo was only good under hunger-fueled delusion.  After several other takes at this place, I can firmly assert that no, Bocadillo is just plain good.

Now, I can’t say I’m a pro on what crazy amazing Venezuelan food is, but the intense number of South American individuals that flock this place make me pretty sure I’m right.

This right here is the shizzle, and my order of choice: carne mechada empanada, tequenos, side of guasacaca. (Photo taken by my equally drooling roommate, Carlo.)
